A Jesus Community.

We are not a conservative community. We are not a progressive community. We are a Jesus-centered and Orthodox community committed to the things the Church has practiced for thousands of years. While there are many peripheral doctrinal questions that deserve serious thought, we want to be committed to the essentials of Christian Orthodoxy. The simplest summation of these beliefs can be found in the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed.

Our Worship declares the story of Jesus.

Values of the Kingdom.

The Church’s responsibility has never been to build, establish, or advance God’s Kingdom; He is fully capable of that. As the Church, our task is to bear witness to the Kingdom of God by living out its values and testifying to its presence.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”

Acts 2:42–47 (ESV)

Common
Commitments.

We believe that the Church is a family; a community with shared values and common commitments. These five commitments are what is asked of all who call Midtown Church ‘home’. Like everything else these commitments are invitational, beneficial, and encouraged– but by no means a requirement to attend a gathering or visit a microchurch.
