Becoming a community of everyday saints.

The headlines, the rumors, and the scandals surrounding Christianity would have many believe the way of Jesus to be a failed experiment—an antiquated religion led and practiced by hypocrites.

But we believe there is a better way.

The pages of history are filled with men and women who knew God—those who dwelled with the Father became like the Son and partnered with the Spirit. They were not perfect, not saviors or mythic heroes, but ordinary people who found the courage to follow Jesus wherever he might lead.

They pursued hospitality over fear, justice over exploitation, participation over consumption, and surrender over control. Their lives were a compelling witness to Jesus’ kingdom one prayer at a time, one meal at a time, and one act of generosity at a time.

These people were called saints.

But saints aren’t just a thing of the past. They are our future. They are among us even now.

They are teachers, plumbers, artists, nurses, waiters, students, parents, children, and retirees. They are co-workers with God, bringing the kingdom to bear here and now.

As such, we don’t want more extravagant Sunday experiences.
We don’t want more Christian programming.
We don’t want a Christianity set against the world.

We want a faith that is shaped by private and public encounters with God.
We want rhythms and relationships in the way of Christ
We want a community that is for the betterment of the world.

This is why we are becoming a community of everyday saints.

Christianity will always suffer bad press, but everyday saints can tell a better story and participate in the healing of our world one life at a time.
