A prayer for the Church amidst an Election.

Our Father,

We confess that our allegiance is
first and foremost to your Kingdom
and our King, Jesus.

We pray that you would grip your Church with diverse unity–reminding us that we have become an alternative community,
not fitting in with the left or the right.

We pray that this election would be for the good of all of our neighbors– especially the marginalized,
impoverished, and oppressed.
May your justice prevail on earth as it is in heaven.

We pray that your people, the Church, would engage with wisdom, imagination, and charity– not motivated by political parties but by love.

We pray that you would give us hope
for your future and the vision to stay faithful to it.
Yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory.

Amen
