Humility as Creatureliness — Psalm 103:1-22

Many so-called transhumanists look forward to a future where technology and scientific advancement move beyond the frailty of being human. From lifespan elongation to AI implementation, many are looking to surpass human biology– a pursuit of divine hubris. As followers of Jesus are invited to embrace our humanity, our creatureliness, as a recognition that God is God, and we are not. Psalm 103 reminds us that we have been redeemed, and yet we are mortal– here today, gone tomorrow. It is a sobering reminder that we are redeemed and doomed– and that life is lived in between that tension. We are creatures and should be mindful of that.
