Cynicism is often mistaken for wisdom. We convince ourselves that seeing the worst in people, expecting disappointment, and assuming the world is beyond repair are signs that we simply understand how things really work. But cynicism is often pride disguised as perspective. The way of humility invites us to recognize both our own weakness and God's goodness. As we cultivate wonder and gratitude, we begin to see the world differently: not ignoring its brokenness, but recognizing that good can still overcome evil.
